What we are about at Wayfarer. . .

Camp Wayfarer is a privately owned and operated Christian camp for boys and girls located in the Blue Ridge mountains of western North Carolina. Founded in 1992, Wayfarer has become a premier camp for boys and girls.

Children ranging in age from 6-17 come to Wayfarer for a traditional, well-balanced camping experience. By providing a variety of session lengths we can accommodate boys and girls of all ages. Our program is diverse which gives each camper an exciting opportunity to learn and thrive.

Our goal. . .

Our goal is to provide a healthy and happy atmosphere where each camper can discover new skills, make new friends, experience new adventures through camp life, and learn to make key decision making skills for their future. By doing so, every camper's sound social, physical, mental, and spiritual development becomes the top priority. We know that our role in preparing young people for their future can only be enhanced by working in a positive Christian atmosphere. While working hard and selfless, and committing to long hours, Wayfarer counselors learn quickly that the Wayfarer camp community is very special. We think of ourselves as a family where every camper, parent and counselor is an integral part of the community.

Who we hire. . .

We believe summer camp can have a profound impact on each and every camper present, therefore, we hire only those individuals who will be positive role models for all. Wayfarer hires young men and women and does not discriminate with regard to race. Those hired must have strong recommendations, experience, and personal interviews. *New applicants must complete a full application and be interviewed by one of the directors.

What we expect from our staff. . .

A responsible and caring attitude.

Unselfish behaviors that put campers first.

A neat and clean appearance.

A loyal and devoted employee that follows the rules and ideals of Camp Wayfarer.
