One month into 2022 – So, how’s it going?

We realize we are well on our way into 2022, but as this first month nears an end, we wanted to reflect on our start to the year.

Often, when we think of the “New Year”, we dream of new beginnings and fresh-starts. It’s as if a chapter has ended and we are handed a new, blank page to continue our story. A clean break. The reality is that the first day of January is merely the next day on the calendar; The clock ticking forward. It’s hardly any different from the previous day, nevertheless, this feeling of “new beginnings” resonates throughout the world and causes people to re-evaluate much about their lives…at least for a few weeks. Pretty soon those new HOKA running shoes are pushed to the back of the closet. That 1,000 page novel begins collecting dust on the shelf. The romantic notion of a “New Year” has soon faded.

But if January 1st is really the same as any other day, why can’t we learn to treat EVERY day with the same sense of “new beginnings”? Can we not wake up every morning with hopeful eyes and ambitious hearts? As we move forward with 2022, we want to encourage all of our Wayfarers to act as if each day is the start of something new! Maintain that hunger for adventure, improvement, curiosity and challenge, no matter what month on the calendar. It’s the Wayfarer Way! Just as we do at camp during the summer, we must strive to push ourselves beyond the boundaries of our comfort zone. We must keep our eyes open to new ideas and perspectives, and most importantly, we must lift up those around us and encourage them to tackle life with the same vigor and enthusiasm.

Opening Day is just a few months away, Wayfarers. We dare you to make today YOUR day. Get off the couch, be kind, and go TACKLE today!

Sending much love and big hugs to our Wayfarer family. Happy 2022!
