CAMP WAYFARER IS A CO-ED OVERNIGHT SUMMER CAMP IN THE BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAINS FOR AGES 5-16.

Tucked into the Blue Ridge Mountains, Camp Wayfarer sits just 30 minutes from Asheville, NC — and within easy reach of families across the Southeast. Whether you’re driving up from Greenville, SC (about 1.5 hours), over from Knoxville (about 2 hours), down from Charlotte (about 2 hours), or making the trip from Atlanta or Raleigh (about 2.5–3 hours), a summer at Wayfarer is never far away. Drop-off day is just the beginning of the adventure — and pick-up day always comes too soon.

We host campers in grades K-Rising 11th each summer with camp sessions ranging from 1 to 5 weeks. Families choose Wayfarer for the close-knit community, the choice in daily schedules, and an atmosphere that builds independence and confidence.

We consider ourselves one of the few remaining “mom and pop” summer camps. As a result of our size and key values, Camp Wayfarer has been able to retain the spirit and intention set forth during our very first summer in 1991.

We know all of our families by name, not by number, and we always cater to the individual needs of our campers. We’ve never forgotten why we’re in this business and we strive to show this through every aspect of our operation.
